Cindee Wright-Clark begins her first season as the Head Coach for Southwood High School basketball program. She is a strong, high energy leader who goes above and beyond in any position that her name is associated with. Coach Wright has been in a leadership role from a young age and continue to uphold the standards all professionals look for. She is a great asset when it comes to dealing with people from all cultivated areas of life. Coach Wright feels her high energy personality is what has attracted her to the success she's had within the leadership roles held.
Clark, a Shreveport native, prepped at Southwood High School, playing basketball under Coach McDowell. "We understood the importance of knowing our identity and we discovered our purpose," Wright stated. In 2005, Coach Wright was named Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year, where she won 3 State Championships rings and went to State in Track and Field. She also broke multiple school records and won 1st place in the 4x1m, 200m, and 100m!
Cindee Wright-Clark attended New Mexico Junior College, Houston Baptist University, and earned her Masters Degree at Ashford University. In 2005-07, as a player at New Mexico I was NJCAA Third Team All-American and made the Dean’s List each year as well as being named “Who’s Who” each year. Clark earned Great West Honorable-Mention honors in basketball while at Houston Baptist as well and earned all-conference honors and broke multiple school records in track and also Played Overseas basketball in Mexico in 2011-2012. Played for the Shreveport Suns semi-pro team as the starting point guard from 2012-14.
Coach Wright has previous college and high school coaching experience; assitant coaching at Centenary College, Allen Community College, Southern University, Shreveport and Loyola College Prep where she worked along side Coach McDowell. She served as head coach, at Vermilion Community College and Calvary Baptist Academy.
