Parent Meeting Information

This is the information that was discussed in the Parent Meeting on Wednesday 7/5/2023

  • Uniform shirts

         Ms. Jordan spoke about wanting uniform shirts for the safety of the students and the staff.             She said that Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors would be in blue polos and Seniors in             orange polos.  She said that the student could wear jeans, shorts and skirts that followed                  the Caddo Parish School Board Dress code.  She also said that NO HOODIES would be                  allowed on campus.

  • Dress code schedule:

Monday: Uniform polo shirt

Tuesday: Grade level shirt (paid with your fees)

Wednesday: Uniform polo shirt

Thursday: Spirit shirt (provided by Ms. Jordan)

Friday: Dress-down day 

Bottoms: Pants, skirts, shorts are allowed (must adhere to school policy). No pajama pants; no leggings/tights that do not cover your bottom. 

  • Backpacks

         Clear backpacks are recommended for the school year

  • Cell Phones

         Cell phones will not be allowed to be used in classrooms.  DO NOT call your student on their cell phones during class time. 

  • I.D. Cards

       All students will be required to wear the appropriate Southwood High School ID cards.  The           first ID card and lanyard will be provided at no cost.  ID cards are needed to ride the bus,                   enter the school building, check-in, check-out, purchase breakfast and lunch, check out                   library books ****, purchase tickets to school activities, attend dances, and to identify                     students who attend campus during the school day.

  • Fees

         2023-2024 Student Fees

          Every Southwood Student will pay a CLASSROOM Fee and a GRADE LEVEL Fee for the                2023-2024 school year. This is not optional. It is required and MUST be paid BEFORE your            student can participate in the activities that the fees cover.

Classroom Fee - $25                                                     Due: 9/15/2023

          All students are required to pay the classroom fee. The classroom fee is $25.00 and                            covers  all seven classes. This fee covers anything that the teacher may need for their                        class for your student. The fee might cover lab expenses, pencils, rulers, markers, etc. for                the 2023-2024 school year. 

           Freshman Fee - $50                                                      Due: 9/15/2023                                        

          All Freshman must pay the Freshman Fee of $50 in addition to the Classroom fee. The Freshman fee covers the following expenses:

  • (1) Homecoming Ticket
  • (1) Class T Shirt
  • Freshman Activities for the 2023-2024 school year
  • $5.00 Teacher Appreciation Week Donation

Sophomore Fee - $50                                                   Due: 9/15/2023

          All Sophomores must pay the Sophomore Fee of $50 in addition to the Classroom fee. The Sophomore fee covers the following expenses:

  • (1) Homecoming Ticket
  • (1) Class T Shirt
  • Sophomore Activities for the 2023-2024 school year
  • $5.00 Teacher Appreciation Week Donation

Junior Fee - $75                                                                      Due: 9/15/2023

          All Juniors must pay the Junior Fee of $75 in addition to the Classroom fee. The Junior fee covers the following expenses:

  • (1) Homecoming Ticket
  • (1) Prom Ticket
  • (1) Class T Shirt
  • Junior Activities for the 2023-2024 school year
  • $5.00 Teacher Appreciation Week Donation

Senior Fee - $150                                                                    Due: 9/15/2023

          All Seniors must pay the Senior Fee of $150 in addition to the Classroom fee. The Senior fee covers the following expenses:

  • (1) Homecoming Ticket
  • (1) Prom Ticket
  • (1) Class T Shirt
  • Picture on Senior Banner – Hang at the Front of School
  • Yearbook
  • Senior Activities for the 2023-2024 school year
  • $5.00 Teacher Appreciation Week Donation

Parking Fee - $25            First Come- First Served

          All licensed drivers are required to purchase a Southwood Parking Permit. The cost of the Parking Permit is $25. Students will receive form that parents must fill out and sign before they are allowed to pick their designated parking spot.
