The Louisiana Department of Education’s Purple Star School Award recognizes schools that demonstrate a major commitment to serving students and families connected to the United States Armed Forces. Purple Star Schools work intentionally to support military-connected students and families by providing resources, identifying their unique needs, preparing staff to support them, and creating opportunities for students to help their military-connected peers successfully transition into a new school community.
